Ms. Berman serves as the DHS Business Unit Vice President (VP) at Sev1Tech.
As the DHS Business Unit VP for Sev1Tech, Tara manages and coordinates all the activities associated with growing the DHS portfolio. She is responsible for ensuring performance metrics for revenue and profitability goals are met, managing DHS customer satisfaction, and effectively communicating Sev1Tech corporate goals to the DHS project managers and teams. Tara provides DHS portfolio operational oversight, proposal development, capture management and maintains strong relationships within DHS promoting growth opportunities. Her contributions to the growth of the company were recognized with VP responsibility and privilege in January 2016.
Ms. Berman has over 20 years of experience supporting large enterprise and technically complex IT infrastructure programs and portfolios. She has extensive expertise in strategic and technical planning and is skilled in leadership, assessing, planning, and executing process-driven solutions. In her career she has led 6 major programs and has been responsible for the successful delivery of over 100 technical projects. Tara joined Sev1Tech in September 2010, providing Program and Project Management support for Federal and Commercial contracts across mission critical IT engineering and operations, acquisition PMO, geospatial, data center relocation and financial management support areas. She has applied these skills in various leadership roles at Sev1Tech to support several DHS components, USPTO, and multiple commercial customers.
Before Sev1Tech, Ms. Berman has led several technical projects. At CBP OIT in support of Program Directorate customers Tara provided technical end to end management and data center infrastructure delivery services. Her leadership and guidance for this program resulted in a record number of 100+ initiatives closed over the course of 2 years, increased customer satisfaction and the addition of new service offerings. While at CBP she also managed CBP OIT PSPD IT Infrastructure initiatives. There, she developed a common schedule of deliverables, activities, and services across all CBP programs specific to the Program Office or Division. As project manager for CBP’s Systems Integration Management Branch (SIMB), Ms. Berman was a liaison to the Passenger Systems Program Office. Under SIMB, she provided Cost Analysis Requirement Document (CARD) and Systems Engineering Life Cycle (SELC) guidance and development in alignment with the CBP enterprise architecture. Prior to SIMB, Ms. Berman supported the OIT mainframe engineering and operations team.
Ms. Berman is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) and ITIL Foundations v3 certified.
